My mind has occupied this week with the loss of our youth directors. Last night I went to a meeting of the minds were we talked for over 2 hours. Many people were extremely defensive and were looking for a fight. I left with the same level of disillusionment, but perhaps an elevated frustration level. Afterwards several of us went to blow off steam at a local establishment. I know the Youth will move on, but I'm worried about the church as a whole.
If you don't have anything to do Friday or Saturday night, you should go to the Youth Coffee House. It starts at 7:00. I think we have close to 30 acts. Several bands, singing, dancing, and even a magician. First United Methodist Church of Coppell
I really don't want to have a bitter attitude about this whole thing, but at the moment I do. Chalk it up to growing pains or whatever you like, but it's evident that the Church must change to survive.
