Wedding plans
It's started. Dezi and I talked for a long time last night about wedding plans. Actually let me rephraise that. She talked about wedding plans and I dodged the question.
When
The main question is when. She proposed January 2006. I kept thinking that if we eloped we could do it in August of '04. I'm currently proposing August 6 of '05. Now there are a couple of fun reasons. One of those being that it's my birthday so I will never forget the anniversary (See I'm thinking ahead). Something else that would be funny is to get married on 05-05-2005, but that's a Thursday. It just seems like such a long ways away.
Destination
Her: Where are we going to have it?
Me: Maui
Her: No we aren't going to Maui
Ok. So I couldn't sell the queens on the Maui idea, but I have made the offer to reconsider when the craziness of wedding planning gets into full swing.
Music
Her: What music do you want to have at the wedding?
Me: Duel of the Fates
She didn't approve of my choice. I also offered up Disturbed, Bloodhound Gang, and Digital Underground. She didn't like any of those choices either. She also informed me that I would not be playing "Another one bites the Dust."
Music
From there we got into potential themes for the wedding. Some of my favorites are:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - She and her bridesmaids can be the turtles with the pastor being Splinter. I would be Shredder with Rocksteady, Beebop, and Brain.
Chewy and Leia - Hubba Hubba.
Shaggy and Velma - Scooby Dooby Doo
The Smurfs - But when I pointed out that there were only two female smurfs and she wouldn't have any brides maids the informed me that some of the smurfs had undergone sex change operations and she would have bridesmaids. I think that's when I changed the subject.
I guess I need to stop being difficult and really start thinking about some of this. It would be a lot easier once the date and site are locked in. Right now it all seems very abstract. I can tell that I'm frustrating Desiree though. I guess part of me just doesn't want to cope with that piece yet.
