Life goes on
I know I haven’t posted here in a while… it’s not that I haven’t had anything to say, just didn’t care to say it. It’s been a busy couple of months. I’m still working through my new job and figuring it all out. We have had some turnover and I’ve ended up taking on a little more work. I’ve flown out to Jonesboro, Arkansas a couple of times in the last several weeks. They plan to find a couple of people to work with me. One is in place and I’m training her up, but in the mean time I have a lot more to do.
However I haven’t stopped being a complete dork. This weekend I was determined to figure out how to deploy a Java application to my cell phone. As simple as I thought it would be, it ended up being a hassle. I found a site to walk me through deploying to my Motorola Razr V3, but then spent even more time trying to find the tools I needed because they weren’t available on the Motorola Developer site. In the end I managed to get it deployed over MiniUSB to the phone. I downloaded Netbeans 5.5 RC2 and the mobility pack which had a couple of sample mobile applications. These were my test files to get see if I could make it work. Now that it’s working, Dezi wants me to figure out how to deploy a Soduku game to her phone.
Dezi and I went to see Employee of the Month last night. We thought it was a cute show, but it’s probably a rental. Last weekend was Daniel and Cassidi’s wedding. Dezi and I were around for quite a bit of that and kept thinking about where we were around that time a little over a year ago. I’m glad we’re married, but it was definitely stressful. Cassidi and her Step-father had a father-daughter dance that Dezi and I both particularly enjoyed. The song they danced to was "For Good" from Wicked. I thought it was particularly powerful choice.
