I'm back. I had an awesome week, but now I need to catch up on my sleep. I'll write a summary later. For the moment, I'm going to finish going through my emails and go take a nap or something.

Well, I'm off for a week of summer camp. Except I'm supposed to be an adult this time. The theme for the week... "The Simpsons" Based on "The Gospel According to the Simpsons" by Mark Pinsky.
I am really looking forward to it. I hope I teach these guys half as much as I'm sure to learn.

Extreme-Geek.com » Web Stats
I'm not sure why I haven't listed this before. I need to add it at the bottom of the page. I was looking at the stats on my web page tonight. People are actually visiting this page. I guess one of my questions is why? I mean I know my mom is looking at this page, but other than that I'm not sure I understand. Something to ponder on. One thing that I did notice is that my error page seems to be brought up quite often. It's nothing special. I suppose if so many people want to see it, I should make it funny.
Here are some examples of humorous 404 Error pages. (404 is the error code returned when a web page can't be found)

And a whole lot more where those came from; 404 Research Lab

I took and passed the Java Cert Exam this afternoon. I should be in a really good mood, but instead I'm frustrated that people are so inconsiderate. I plan to rant until I get tired so you guys might want to move along. Move along! Nothing to see here!
First things first. When I showed up to the exam center, they had a big bowl of lollipops on the front desk. I didn't think much of it. I signed in, proved I am who I think I am, and was seated at a computer. About 30 minutes into the test I hear "Schhluuurp!" Some bozo is taking his test with one of the lollipops... But he's idlely schlurping on it. This continues for the next 45 minutes. Every 30 seconds to a minute; "Schhluuurp!" I was stressed over taking my test and I wanted to rip his arm off and beat him with it. Not a good start. I finish my test, hit "Grade" and walk out to see I passed with 77% when a 61% would have worked. That was good.
To celebrate I decided I wanted to go see a movie. There are several good ones out right now that I wanted to see. Actually, I'd probably have gone even if I hadn't passed. I needed a break from reality. I arrive at the AMC Grapevine 30 (yes, that's 30 screens) and proceed to check out the times. I had missed the start of Windtalkers by about 20 minutes... That was the one I really wanted to see. But Scooby Doo was starting in 20 minutes so I decided I'd go see that. I noticed an inordinate amount of kids in the area and remembered that Lilo and Stitch was opening today. That's fine... they can all go see that. No one is going to Scooby Doo. (Or so I thought)
I walk in, get my ticket and head to my theatre. I have 10 minutes or so before it starts and the theatre is mostly empty. Slowly, but surely, the theatre starts to fill; With a bunch of kids (and their parents.) Sigh... I relegate myself to my movie. During the movie I counted: 3 cell phones going off (vibrate mode, DUH!), 2 screaming/crying toddlers, and one jerk behind me and slightly to the right who chose to answer his cellphone and hold a conversation during the movie. ARGHHHH!!!! Stupid people suck.
So now I am home. I don't think I'll leave my little domicile for the evening. It might not be safe for any stupid people I might happen to encounter. Instead I plan to wash clothes, watch some TV, and work on a couple of projects I have been putting off this week.
Still on the subject of stupid people, I heard on the radio that a certain elementary school has banned "Tag." They deem "Tag" to be damaging to the social well-being of the slower and younger players. Tag. The game you played in your front yard or on the school grounds. What's next? Are we going to ban children talking too? That's a lot more hurtful than any stupid game.

Well I have been quite for a little bit. Time to fix that.
This weekend I joined a gym. I got a flier in the mail that offered and $8/month membership. While that may be true, they neglect to mention that there is a large membership fee up front. In the end I signed up for a six month stint. Today was my first day to go work out. I thought I was doing good. I was there for about 1.5 hours and had loosened up quite a bit. However, when I got off the last machine I could barely walk. A shower and a change of clothes later, I'm still sweating, but feeling pretty good.
The party at the Magic Time Machine was a lot of fun. We had the Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride as our waiter. I earned the dubious title of "Monarch" by sitting at the foot of the table and practicing my 'princess' wave. I think everyone had a good time.
This Friday I'm signed up to take the Java Programmers' Exam for the second time. The last time I took it I missed it by one question. I was really upset and haven't been able to motivate myself to study. So now I have the motivation and I'm going to ace this test. Or at least not have to spend any more money to take that dang thing again. At $150 a pop, you don't want to screw it up.
This morning I had a really weird dream. I don't remember exact details, but I know it goes something along the lines of this: I was trying to outsmart my alarm clock and let me sleep for another 30 minutes. From somewhere in the back of my head I heard a voice saying, "This is childish. You have to get up and go to your meeting this morning." I was so surprised I immediately woke up. Now I always knew I was odd, but I don't remember ever talking to myself in a dream before.
No word back from the interview I had last week. I need to follow up with them. That's a position I really think I would enjoy.
I had other thoughts, but I can't think of them right now. I guess that means I should get back to studying.

Today has been a productive day. I went to a mini-career fair and have had an interview with a group that I would be very excited to work for. At the career fair I waited in line with several other people to talk to representatives of one staffing firm. When we got in there, there were 2 people who sat 4-5 of us down and told us, "Here's what you do. Take this card and e-mail me your resume. Call to make sure I get it. Here's our website." You know what? I don't think I want to deal with them. I'm not going to say who it was, but if you're not even going to shake my hand and introduce yourself, what's the point of going to a career fair? I could get that information on a pamphlet. They didn't take my resume and they didn't tell me about their positions that I might be able to fill. Grrrr....
The positive side was the interview. I hope to hear back soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

My brother, his girlfriend and I spent 2 hours in Fry's Electronics this afternoon. I bought some new speakers and a double set of Redneck Rampage 1 and 2. Jeff made a couple of larger purchases, but it was his birthday money. Since I was killing so much time, I ran across and isle with "Simulated" Security Cameras. Keep them honest by making them think they are being watched. What a funny idea. I'm sure it works more often than not.

Oh how embarrasing. I just found a mistake in a cover letter that I have been using for the last month. Instead of 'user' it was 'user' and I didn't catch it. Oh well. I got a call today and have an interview tommorrow. Wish me luck, b/c it sounds like a very fun position.
Capture the Flag was a lot of fun. I forget the discussion that always accompanies a game though. Certain rules being added/revised in the middle of the game. Some people get very up upset about it. It was a good thing the game was called. No one got to upset about it.
Last week we only had 2 youth show up for Junior Hight Bible Study. We had 5 counselors there. Hmmm... Good ratio I guess. Except we'll scare the youth away. Anyway, since the lesson plan wouldn't have worked that great, we went to get some dessert from Sonic. On the way out to the cars I remembered I had shoe polish stuff in my car from the wedding the previous week. We went to Sonic and came back and wrote on the Sr. High's cars. We put some really nice bible versus on cars, but there were a couple that were doozies.
Hebrews 5:2 He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. and 1 Timothy 1:7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm
We actually thought the 1 Timothy one was nice, but we got it mixed up. It was 2 Timothy 1:7 which said For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline I guess I really am corrupting the youth.

Well I have been remarkably quite all week. I just got an email from Microsoft saying that their Hotmail service is no longer going offer free POP mail access as of July 1, 2002. For me that means that I'm no longer going to be using the stupid service. I have my own web-based email, but it is incredibly annoying. I guess it put to much stress on their servers and they weren't getting the benefit of the ad time. Greed, it's a powerful drug.
Tonight is Capture the Flag and little cook out. Should be fun.

Ok... I promised a full report. Here goes... Don't say I didn't warn you.
I left late on Thursday and stayed in Conroe so I would have a nice short trip into Baytown. I arrived a little after 11:00 and checked in to the hotel. I hung out with Mark's (the groom) parents before the rest of the guys got there. We went to the Men's Warehouse to try on our tuxes. They had been having computer problems and the air conditioner was out. It was like pulling teeth to get things taken care of. After an hour of Mark and his father arguing with one of the minions there, we finally left and headed back to the hotel to get cleaned up and presentable for the Rehearsal. Everything went as expected for the Rehearsal and the Dinner that night. The ring bearer, Hunter, came down to the end of the table and was telling me knock-knock jokes. Something along the line of; "knock-knock" "Who's there" "Banana" "Banana who?" "Banana got his hair burned off!!!" Hunter was my buddy. We ate Banana Foster together after that.
Saturday I woke up about 5:00 and couldn't go back to sleep. About 5:30 I got up, cleaned up, watched some soccer and headed out to the continental breakfast when it opened at 6. I went back to my room to find some good cartoons to watch until more people were up. Since the wedding wasn't until that evening, we had most of the day to kill. John (the best man), Steve (boyfriend of bridesmaid Kathy), Ann (House party) and I ended up hanging out for most of the day. We tried to go see Spiderman, but the film burned up during one of the trailers. Instead we went and bought items to decorate the car that night and then went back to the hotel and went swimming. I tried to take Steve in a water wrestling match, but I lost. Steve is 6' 5" and had a considerable height advantage, but it was still a lot of fun. I don't know too many people who can dunk me. I cleaned up and headed to the church. For the reception there was cake cutting, dancing, and the decoration of the car. The decorating turned into a massive project. At one time or another about 20 people were out there to help. I really wanted to be tacky, but ended up being more childish than anything else. They were staying Saturday night in Houston and going to Cancun for their Honeymoon. Saturday night a few of us went out dancing at a little country bar in Baytown. It was a funny place. Lot's of drunk guys making fools of themselves.
Wedding Pictures
Sunday I got up and drove into College Station. I had lunch with Cara and her boyfriend Jack. I got to chat with her a bit and then headed on into Abilene to meet Miss Rachel. She's a cute little thing, but I never saw her eyes. I have been assured that she has then and puts them and her lungs to good use from 2-4 in the morning. I decided to cut my trip short and head back today. I'm just glad to be back.
There are a couple of other things going on. Yesterday was my bro's birthday. Though I never actually talked to him, I was informed things were going to suit him. Also, my father retired from the Department of Human Services after 33 years. He's not quite sure what happens now, but I hope he will be much happier than he had been with his job.

Well I have a lot of report, but as my brain is not completely working at the moment, I'll only give the run down. Details to follow.
I was a groomsman in the wedding of two of my friends from A&M. It was beautiful and I enjoyed every moment of it.
Today I met little Rachel pictured below. Very cute, but she was also very sleepy when I met her. Just think of all the bad habits I'll be able to teach her.
