Sometimes legal mumbo jumbo is great. Kazaa is now
suing the RIAA for using an illegal software agent to monitor downloading of songs on their system. According to the law suit, it violates the stated terms for using the network.
Ooohh... Pass the popcorn. This is getting good.

This week has dramatically improved.
After a call from a concerned parent, I had sent the affronted junior higher a note and a card. His mom called me last night and left a message on my machine saying that it meant a lot to him and I might not have run him off after all. That was really good. Especially since I had been witness to some additional drama with the youth last night.
Tonight my Aggies play #8 ranked Virginia Tech on ESPN. I'm excited about the game, but I have a feeling I know what the result will be. On Kyle field, the Aggies would have a much better advantage, but who knows.
It's been a busy week at work, but this is probably the first in a while where I'm going to work right at 40 hours a week. I wish I could say I've been focusing on work this entire time, but I lost most of Monday distracted with the car accident and the youth.
I have been named I.T. Coordinator for the youth. I was trying to come up with a difference acronyms for I.T.
Desiree and I spent some time and finally settled upon Inspired Teens. I liked 'inspired' even better when I looked up the
definition. It's going to be a group of youth that may be more technically oriented. The youth group has grown from a super small 20-30 kids to 150+ on Sunday nights. There are now 3 worship services that need someone to run sound and power point. A
web site, several computers, video, digital cameras and so much more. There are a ton of things we can do, but we just don't have the man power in counselors to do it. We have some incredible youth and it's time to start taking full advantage of their skills. I have been asked to lead that effort and am incredibly excited by the possibilities. I've drawn up a little application for interested parties to fill out. I made an announcement last night, but I plan to make a little movie and presentation to get everyone interested and make sure they understand what needs to happen. I have t-shirt ideas and the whole nine yards. I've been given free reign. That should really terrify some people. This geek now gets to recruit other geeks to empower one another and the youth group.
I'm right on schedule in my plan for world domination. :)

Can I just get a do over for the last week? Please.
How about the weekend even?
I thought Saturday was bad. Then I get a phone call this morning that makes me feel about 2 inches tall. I almost want to just go home and crawl under the covers and pretend it didn't happen.
Saturday morning, I'm taking my trash out. I walk out just in time to see my car rock back and forth as it's been hit by another car. The driver of the first car lost control and hit a second car and then bounced back and hit a third. The second car was hit hard enough to knock it into my car and mess up the rear wheel well and rear driver side door. We came to find out that the driver had no license and no insurance and the owner of the first car had no insurance. The police came and took some info. They couldn't do anything but write the driver a ticket for lack of insurance since it was on private property. That all but killed my Saturday.
Sunday I spent all day at church including helping with Sunday School, contemporary worship, meeting with the youth director, having a meeting with all the counselors, and actually having youth later that night. This morning I get a call from the mom of one of the kids in Sunday School. I was trying to joke around and tease him, but he took it in the worst possible way. He's upset and doesn't think he wants to come back with makes me feel even worse.
So now I'm at work. I'm expected to get some stuff done. And I really have absolutely no ability to concentrate on what I need to do.
On a completely unrelated note. My friend Braden who I have known since we were 3 decided to propose to his girlfriend yesterday. Actually I have a feeling he decided long before that, but he actually asked her. She said 'Yes' and they are to be married on June 25th. Congratulations to them.
But I still want to a do over.

There is an old Aggie saying that goes something like this:
From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't expain it.

I have been intending to post things for over a week now. I have been super busy with work, church, and everything else.
My friends Josh and Jocelyn got engaged last week and I have had he intention of reflecting on their
doomed impending marriage. (Ducking to avoid the large object Josh would throw at me) I know they may not always be happy together and they are two very strong willed individuals, but I know they love each other and I wish them the best of luck as they embark on their futures together.
And I will give more details since the story is a lot of fun.
I have a big project at work that is supposed to be available to demo on Monday morning. I'm going to be cutting it close to get it there and I may have to work some this weekend, but I've been trying to do a dozen things and get this project out all at once.
Last Sunday was the first Sunday at my
church with the new Heartfire worship. It's a contemporary worship service which means that they play more upbeat music and have a more laid back atmosphere. I haven't been to church in a while. I have had a gradual falling out with my current church and the way things have been handled and the way I wish things were handled. I have been tapped to get involved with this contemporary service and I'm actually really excited about it. It's a new ministry that I can help mold into something that is warm and welcoming for everyone.
Last Saturday was dancing at
Cowboy's Red River. A good time was had by all. Well... All two of us. Oh... And I found a place to live. I'm going to be moving at the end of October, probably on the weekend of the 25th. If you don't have anything that I can't bribe you away from with pizza and beer I would love to have your help. I'm using
MoveForFree.com after seeing how they successfully moved my friend Christi. Basically they will move the big stuff and I'll need help with the smaller furniture and boxes.
I guess with all that said, I need to go get busy.

So far this work week has not been very exceptional, but today it got a whole lot better.
Last weekend was a lot of fun. I went to Smokefest which is a BBQ competition between a bunch of guys who are pretty much just looking to have a good time. It was a lot of fun. I'm amazed at what a huge production the whole thing turned out to be. It was a good weekend. I spent a lot of time with Dezi and hung out with her dad and some of the guys on Saturday night. It was the night before the competition and the cook and drink all night. The interesting part was what they were doing to prepare a whole pig for cooking. Dezi should have pictures up on her site at some point and I'll just point you there.
Yesterday my car decided to have some issues so it's at the shop and I'm driving a rental. Good news is it should be pretty easy to fix. Bad news... Car repair is always unexpected.
So anyway... On to the good stuff. Today I was given my very own peon. He's someone that is extra from one of the other groups we work with. He's not that familiar with Java and I don't know about the rest of it, but he's going to be doing all of the grunt work that I have been doing since I started. I know I'll have to teach him a whole lot, but just think... I have a peon. Of course you can call them a peon to their face, but I'll soon have him gathering resources in preparation for my domination of the rest of the world. My plans for world domination are proceeding right on track.
