Another Bridal Moment

Heather and I went out for our annual Valentine's celebration tonight. We got to talking about the wedding (naturally) and how close it is getting. We realized this week that my first shower is six weeks away! That is hard to believe. I took her to my house and showed her a bunch of things. First was the wedding stationary. This includes the invitation, the reception card, reply card, along with two sets of informal notes (one with my name, the other with both our names) for our thank you notes. Let me tell you, it was incredibly weird to see a wedding invitation with MY name on it! The invitations turned out absolutely gorgeous and I am excited about sending them out!!

We then ventured upstairs and I showed her my shoes, petticoat and veil. I tried on my shoes and petticoat for her. Then I was holding the waist of the petticoat up and trying to dance. Which didn't work too well. It'll be nice when the waist is taken in and it fits. I then showed her the flowers for the centerpieces, my wedding jewelry and all that jazz. Heather was almost in tears when I grabbed my bouquet and held it up. (No, not because it looked bad.) She said that she was so happy for me, and it was so hard to believe that the wedding is just over five months away! It was a neat moment, and I'm sure there will be lots more to come.

David and I started on our registry last weekend. We went to Foley's, and selected china, everyday plates and other things. We then found out that our china pattern that we picked is being discontinued. Lovely. So we're going to register for china and crystal at Dillards. In fact, Heather and I went there and looked around at those items. I found a couple of china patterns that I liked, I'm pretty sure David will like them, it's similar to what he said he liked before. We'll officially go register there on Sunday. We will have our registries available online, for easy access. (Our Foley's already is online!) Hooray, and a good week to all!
