I Feel Pretty

I had my second dress fitting this past Saturday. Heather and I drove in one car, my mom and aunt Linda drove in another car. After missing the appropriate exit and charting a rather creative route in typical Dezi fashion, we arrived at the bridal salon only about five minutes late. I once again got to don my beautiful wedding gown!

Now one thing about the dressing rooms is that they are too small for two people plus a wedding dress and accessories to fit in. Mom and I had fun trying that last time. Nonetheless, I put on all the appropriate underclothes, then Heather slipped the dress over my head. I have no idea why I bothered to fix my hair, the minute the dress went over my head, it pulled my clip out of my hair. Oh well. I put it back in and we ventured out to the area where the seamstress was waiting. As I took my place in front of the mirror, I looked at Heather. She got all teary-eyed and gave me a hug. My mom and Linda told her to stop that, or they'd start up too. The dress fit much better in the waist this time and the front was the right length, but as I was walking around, Mom, Linda and Heather all said that the sides needed to be shorter.

Once the dress was all pinned again, we discussed how I wanted the dress to bustle for the reception. We tried a couple of different styles of bustle before deciding on one. The seamstress pinned the dress where it would bustle and told me to walk around the floor. I walked around the store, stopping to twirl around a few times. (Well, I do need to practice dancing in it!) I felt so beautiful and am looking forward to the day when I can show David! Which will be July 23rd.

For the rest of the day, Heather and I were grinning ear to ear, thinking about me in the dress. When I saw David later, I was still grinning. My final fitting will be March 26th, then it should fit perfectly! Hooray!

I feel pretty, oh so pretty......
