Strike a Pose

Thursday was a big step in the whole wedding planning process. I went for my bridal portrait! Mom and I started rolling my hair around 11:30, and doing makeup at 1:30. The portrait was scheduled for 4:00. We arrived at the church around three to put the finishing touches on everything and put on the dress. Since we were ready early, my mom gave her camera to my aunt Linda, who took pictures with it. Those turned out really well, just think how the photographers' will be!

We showed the photographers around the church, taking pictures in many different spots. For one of the pictures, DeEtte was demonstrating how she wanted me to sit on the couch. Well, it's one thing to tuck your legs underneath you when you're wearing jeans. It's totally different wearing a dress and petticoat. I know I certainly had a good laugh over it. (And surprisingly enough, I did not fall off the couch while attempting to assume that pose.)

They took pictures of me all over the church: looking out windows, peeking out of doors, leaning up against columns, you name it! It really was a lot of fun. While we had brought a white sheet to put under me for outdoor pictures, the train on my dress still got dirty. Oh well, there's a place in Dallas that is supposed to be the best place to take your wedding down to be cleaned, so we'll take it there, and after getting it back, not touch it until July 23rd!

So Mom and I will go on Thursday and pick out which pictures they want, which ones to give to the family and which one to display at the reception. I am really excited about that, and have no idea how I'm going to choose which ones I want!
