Time flies
It's amazing how quickly time has flown by. Christmas and New Years have come and gone. I hate to say it, but I never really got into the Christmas spirit this year. I was too busy focused on work and other things. Dezi did a majority of the Christmas shopping. We did learn how to make candles and she made soap for hand made gifts. We had to be extremely conservative, but I think we faired very well.
Thanksgiving had been all about my family, so Christmas was all about hers. Christmas day was extremely busy. While I would have enjoyed the idea of sleeping in we hopped up by 8:00. We exchanged our own presents and then drove to her parent's house for the nuclear family exchange. Then we hopped in the car and drove to her grandparents for lunch and more presents. Back in the car to her parents house to make sure everything was ready for the other half of the family to come over. By the time we finally got home it was close to Midnight and we'd had a full day.
New Year's was considerably less busy. We had never really made plans for what we were going to do, but I had wanted to do something. Unfortunately I had a bone jarring headache for 3 days straight. I Never was completely sure what caused the headaches, but between allergy, sinus, headache, and ear infection medicines we managed to put the kabosh on it by Monday evening just in time to go back to work.
This Saturday will be our first party in the apartment. We have a lot of cleaning to do. Dezi has borrowed the chocolate fountain from her parents. I know (or at least I think) she has it all planned out in her head. I'm just curious to see what that will be.
