Two People, One Car....
Or such was the case yesterday morning! David & I loaded up the car and headed up to church. I had bought bagels and orange juice for our Sunday school class, we got the room set up and waited for our classmates. This is our second week to meet, and both weeks have gone really well! I think that David does a great job teaching (not that I'm biased or anything!) Last week, to go along with the anniversary of September 11th, we discussed hate. Yesterday's lesson was about faith in public schools. Since I've worked in schools, the lesson really resonated with me!
After class, we packed up and rushed back to church, in time for me to get ready to sing with the choir. The service was neat, and we had several new people join the church! We then partook in our weekly debate on where to eat lunch! We decided to have Chinese food, then David decided he wanted a haircut. Since there was a wait, I had time to do a mystery shop, go back to the apartment, unload the car and change clothes before heading back to the haircut place. We had just enough time to relax a bit before heading back to church (in separate cars) for youth/children's activities.
Not related (but I'm talking about it here anyway), we went to my grandparents' house on Saturday night! My aunt and uncle were in town from Louisiana this weekend, so we all met over for pizza and visiting. I decided to bring wine and dessert, which was well received by everyone! One of my aunts teaches at a preschool, she and I were comparing stories, and she sent me some great links to some curriculum websites! Another aunt teaches elementary school, all of us were exchanging kid/parent stories. It's kind of neat to be able to talk about stuff like that with the family!
