Chips & Salsa
Of course, the salsa I'm referring to is the dance! (Nice play on words, eh?) Once a month, our church has Marriage Enrichment night, otherwise known as Date Night. This month's event was held at our church this past Friday. We had dinner catered by Tres Meridas, then dance lessons taught by a local dance instructor!
We sat at a table with other couples in our Sunday school class, we called it the Genesis Table. After stuffing ourselves full of scrumptious food, we all gathered for the dance portion of the evening. First we did swing. I was happy that we remembered the steps we learned from our dance lessons a couple of years ago! We did all sorts of spins, turns and dips! The others may have thought we were showing off a bit, but for the most part, they were all busy dancing, too!
We then did some waltz, tango, then finished up with learning some salsa! While we were dancing the tango, at one point, Billy put a rose in his teeth. I thought it would have been funny to have a picture of that and use it as advertising for our church! The dance instructor and his partner both told David & I that we did a great job dancing, which really made me feel good. They also had a sign-up sheet for people interested in taking group lessons. I think it'd be fun, but who knows when we'd have the time to do it?
Another part of the evening was a silent auction. We had placed bids on a few different things, and wound up with two of them! One prize was a handmade basket, woven by a member of the congregation. In the basket was some stationery and a book on gardening. The other prize was a basket of Arbonne bath stuff, a women's devotional journal, as well as a fifty dollar gift certificate for some Faith jewelry. I was excited about our winnings, and best of all, we didn't have to spend a lot to win them! What a fun night!
Now I just need to go soak my feet, which are still sore from Friday night!
