Six Months to Go...

It's really getting to be crunch time as far as wedding plans. All the things that we said we would do after Christmas, we actually have to start doing! Monday, Mom and I went out to a huge fabric place to get the material for the bridesmaids' dresses. We also went to Payless and found the perfect color to dye their shoes. We traveled to Sam Moon to look at accessories for the girls and myself.

Wednesday afternoon, we had an appointment with the caterer for a taste test and to ask questions that we had. Mom and I met David out there to sample their food. It was delicious!! David and I didn't have many questions for her, but Mom did. We were there mostly to eat the food. She told us what we wanted to hear, so everyone was pleased. The best part is, we can drop the centerpieces off during the week, and they will arrange them for us! Hooray! That means we won't have to do it the morning of the wedding.

Since I have a shower scheduled in April, we decided we needed to get some ideas for our registry. Yesterday was spent traipsing all over Frisco and parts of Dallas, getting ideas. We went to several places, including Macy's, JC Penney, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. We still have some more places to visit, narrow down what we want, then we'll go officially register within the next month. David and I called what we were doing "pre-registering". We went in with a pen and a spiral notebook and I wrote down anything that either of us liked. We found a lot of the typical stuff that most people register for, but we also found some fun stuff that we also really liked. More details coming soon!

It's official

It's on the web. That must mean it's official. Right?

Sorry I forgot myself for a moment.

Friday night Dezi, her parents, and myself drove down to Ennis to see Ira Bedford and Bustin Loose.

The trip was fine. Unfortunately I developed a pretty nasty headache Friday evening. I took a lot of medicine, but it barely put a dent in my headache. Let me tell you, being in a loud bar with a bad headache is not where you want to be. We danced a little. Actually a total of 3 songs. (By the way, cymbals are evil. I mean REALLY evil.) When the band took a set break we talked to Ira and were pretty happy with it all. I could catch about every other word over the ruckus, but everyone agreed they would be a lot of fun.

Venture to Ennis

This Friday Desiree and I will venture to the mighty metropolis of Ennis to check out Bustin' Loose. The name cracks me up.

And I'm intrigued by the picture on their home page. It looks like the lead singer has had a cowboy hat photoshopped into the picture. Very curious.

I Bought Boots!

I know this is going to sound like a really dumb post to put here, but I made a purchase this week that I am really excited about. I bought boots. You know cowboy boots. I had a pair that my dad gave me about 10 years ago, but they had to be retired since I wore a hole in the sole of one of them. While this act in and of itself my seem less than significant it means Dezi and I hope to go dancing more often. We planned to go dancing for New Years Eve. That didn't quite work out as we planned due to a series of unfortunate events. I may try to explain some of it later, but not right now. Suffice it to say that I hope to go dancing again very soon and now I have the attire to do so. We may even buy some boots for Dezi. She'd like to have boots to dance in, but I think she looks cute in her loafers.

We intended to kill two birds with one stone. We went to check out a band that we would like to consider for the reception. West of Nowhere was having their CD release party along with playing at one of their regular gigs at W.W. Fairfields. They sounded really good, but Dezi and I left to go find my cell phone after one dance.
