Scanner Crazy

We spent our Friday evening running around Target with a little scanner gun. We had been putting off doing some of our registry stuff for a while, but we were working hard to get that remedied. After spending some time fighting with the stupid kiosk we managed to get to a position where they gave us one of the silly little scanning guns.

We proceeded to spend two hours running around target looking for stuff that we "needed." When things were boring I stole the gun and headed to the toys section. I only scanned a couple of things in the toy department, but we had a good time running around. I'm pretty sure I amused Dezi. I know I amused myself. I just hope we can get a chuckle when someone goes to look.

We still have to go to Dillards, but we were both tired today. While I spent some time at Jiu-Jitsu, Dezi and her mom did important wedding stuff. They first went to the place where she got her dress for an initial fitting. Then they did some shopping for flowers to make the boutonnieres for the attendants. I'm sure they did other things, but that's just what I remember from what she told me.

Another Bridal Moment

Heather and I went out for our annual Valentine's celebration tonight. We got to talking about the wedding (naturally) and how close it is getting. We realized this week that my first shower is six weeks away! That is hard to believe. I took her to my house and showed her a bunch of things. First was the wedding stationary. This includes the invitation, the reception card, reply card, along with two sets of informal notes (one with my name, the other with both our names) for our thank you notes. Let me tell you, it was incredibly weird to see a wedding invitation with MY name on it! The invitations turned out absolutely gorgeous and I am excited about sending them out!!

We then ventured upstairs and I showed her my shoes, petticoat and veil. I tried on my shoes and petticoat for her. Then I was holding the waist of the petticoat up and trying to dance. Which didn't work too well. It'll be nice when the waist is taken in and it fits. I then showed her the flowers for the centerpieces, my wedding jewelry and all that jazz. Heather was almost in tears when I grabbed my bouquet and held it up. (No, not because it looked bad.) She said that she was so happy for me, and it was so hard to believe that the wedding is just over five months away! It was a neat moment, and I'm sure there will be lots more to come.

David and I started on our registry last weekend. We went to Foley's, and selected china, everyday plates and other things. We then found out that our china pattern that we picked is being discontinued. Lovely. So we're going to register for china and crystal at Dillards. In fact, Heather and I went there and looked around at those items. I found a couple of china patterns that I liked, I'm pretty sure David will like them, it's similar to what he said he liked before. We'll officially go register there on Sunday. We will have our registries available online, for easy access. (Our Foley's already is online!) Hooray, and a good week to all!

Going on a Sea Cruise!

David and I have officially decided that we are going on a cruise to the Caribbean aboard a Royal Caribbean ship! I am really, really excited about this! One of the men at church, has been on our particular boat and says that it is beautiful! Hooray!! I immediately started looking for steel drum music. I also took the opportunity to go shopping for a new bathing suit, which is never fun, but I think I found some possible suits.

We also have a final headcount and are in the process of ordering our invitations. I think the invites that we picked out are really pretty, and I can't wait to see them when they come in!!! David showed me a wedding database that I could download and plug in people's addresses, so I spent Sunday night typing in addresses. Which was very tedious, but hey, it is finished, so yay!! It'll tell us whom we've sent invitations to, who has replied back, who has sent a gift, and if a thank you note has been sent to them. The really cool part, is that now we'll have all these addresses that will make up our Christmas card list for years to come!

On another, unrelated note, my bridal slip came in on Monday. I guess it's more of a petticoat than a slip, but at any rate, it is in. So I immediately had to drop my stuff and try it on! I was already wearing pantyhose and heels about the same height as my wedding shoes, so I was good to go. The slip was the right length, and once we take it in at the waist, it'll fit good, too! It is SO pretty, and totally made me feel like Scarlett O'Hara!! I also found out today, that my dress is at the warehouse, and will be shipped to the store, and arriving next week. I'm so excited!!!! I am really looking forward to starting my dress fittings!!!!! Yay!!!!!!
