Two Months as Husband & Wife

Today marks our two-month anniversary! I'm so excited! It seems like it was yesterday that we got married. I can't believe how fast it is going by! I've had several people ask me how married life is and you know what? I LOVE being married to David! Yes, marriage is definitely a huge adjustment, but I'm really enjoying it. I get to wake up next to my best friend every morning! How awesome is that? Yay! Happy Anniversary, David!!

Discovering Frisco & Being Productive

Today was a good day. Because of construction on the Tollway, when I come home from Denton, I have to turn on Main Street and get to the apartment that way, instead of turning on our street. I had previously noticed a couple of stores while driving down Main Street and today I stopped. One of them was Extravagant Necessities. It has a bunch of different stuff, from jewelry to stationary to candles to food. The ladies who work there are a lot of fun too. I didn't buy anything today, but I could definitely see me spending some money there in the future!

The other place was called Love You More Ceramics. It is similar to Paint Yer Pottery, except it's a little bit smaller. They had a wide variety of stuff to paint, and she said that if I had some people that wanted to paint, they'd keep the store open after hours for us. How neat is that? I look forward to painting pottery there in the future. I love that it is so close to our apartment! What a great day!

I cooked dinner for David and I tonight. After dinner, we worked on the office/spare bedroom. We had all of my boxes in there. We got over half of them unpacked! I was very pleased at the progress that we made. A lot of what we did was combine boxes, but we got rid of a bunch of boxes and have a pile of items to donate to charity. We still have several boxes to go through, however, the majority of those have books in them, so unpacking will mostly consist of putting the books on the bookshelves. All in all, a good and productive day!

Some Assembly Required

David and I went to Best Buy on Friday night, to pick up some stuff for his computers. While we were there, we looked at DVD storage shelves. While I didn't bring that many movies with me, we were still in dire need of another storage shelf. We purchased one, and took it home. It was somewhat more complex to put together than we had realized.

The directions that came with the shelves had a lot of diagrams, not a lot of instructions. After much discussing, we decided what the instructions meant, and put the bottom half of the unit together. After all the time we took to put it together, we discovered that we had done it wrong. Luckily, it wasn't that difficult to do over. The second half came together much more quickly. Now we have our DVDs organized, with room for more!

The next day, we were working on my car. The decorative molding on the driver's side came off awhile back, and I had it repaired by the dealer. However, I don't know if it's the heat or whatever, but it had started to come loose again. I tried sticking it back on with double stick tape, but that didn't work. David and I stopped by Auto Zone the night before, and got some adhesive. Yesterday morning we used it, and so far it's holding, so yay! We also replaced my windshield wipers. All in all, a productive weekend!

A Night Out

David and I have both been really busy the past couple of weeks. As I was driving home yesterday from Denton, I decided that we needed a night out. I called David at work and told him that I wanted to take him to dinner at Leonardo's. Leonardo's is one of these hole in the wall places in Frisco that we discovered while driving around one night, looking for a place to eat. It has wonderful Italian food, and we have never been disappointed with anything that we've had there.

Last night was no exception. I don't remember what David had, but I had tortellini alla panna, which is tortellini with pink sauce. It's one of my favorites. While the service wasn't great last night, the food was wonderful as usual. For dessert, we ordered two tiramisus to go.

The rest of the evening was spent enjoying our tiramisu and watching David's latest Netflix pick, Shall We Dance. It was really good, and made me miss our dancing lessons that we did. We decided we'd go out dancing soon. All in all, it was a really fun night! Yay!

Lights, Camera, Action!

Thursday night, David and I went over to my parents' house. Chris, our videographer, had the finished video with him, and was excited about showing us! I was also really excited about seeing it. He had incorporated photos from both our childhoods, as well as pictures of us together and pictures taken on our wedding day.

I thought it was really well done. Chris had also composed some original music for the video, it was really neat. It showed both of us before the ceremony, and then of course the ceremony. It also hit the highlights of the reception, including our special dances, cake cutting, toasts, bouquet and garter toss, as well as when we left. What was really neat, is that he would go between the footage of us dancing at the reception, footage of us before the ceremony and still photos. The last thing on the video was us girls dancing to Proud Mary combined with the different marriage advice given by our friends and family. I'm not describing it well, but the final product was amazing!

Chris also agreed to take all of the music from the video and make it into a soundtrack. I want to have a recording of all of that wonderful organ music, as well as our special music and the score that Chris composed. I'm excited about the video and know we will enjoy it for years to come!
