Good News!

I went to Target and spent some of our wedding gift certificates this afternoon. David and I are now the proud owners of a Dustbuster! Also an extended duster (so I can reach the ceiling fans!), and a bath pillow! The good news there is that we still have lots of gift certificates left! I thought about getting a bedspread, but decided I wanted David there to make sure he would like it.

I also got an e-mail from our photographers today! Our wedding album design is finished, and was sent to me for approval. I think it looks really cool! I forwarded it to David, so he could see it as well. We'll turn in any changes we want by Monday, then should get the album within a couple of weeks! I'm really excited about seeing the finished album. It's going to be so cool!

Three Months Ago...

Three months ago, David and I got married! Hooray! So far, it's definitely been an adventure, but a really great one! I know it's only been three months, but sometimes it feels like it's been longer. Other times, it seems like it was just yesterday! Happy three month anniversary, David! I love you! Yay!

Dining Room Table

We got our wedding gifts all cleaned off of our dining room table! Hooray! I thought that tonight would be a good night to eat our first meal together in the dining room, to celebrate having it cleaned off.

I cooked enchiladas for dinner, chicken for David and cheese for myself. I also cooked up some refried beans. I got out our casual placemats and a couple of napkins (from the myriad left after our wedding reception.) I decided we needed a centerpiece. My bouquet placed in a vase worked quite nicely. When dinner was ready, we turned off the tv (don't worry, we taped Desperate Housewives) and enjoyed a quiet meal together. The food turned out really good (another recipe added to my slowly increasing repertoire), and the meal was a success. I'm looking forward to many years of meals on our dining room table!

Dezi the Electrician?

David and I didn't have a working VCR, and we both have several VHS tapes. My parents gave us a VCR that they no longer have a use for, since they have a combination VCR/DVD player. I took it upon myself to install the VCR yesterday. The television in the living room was much too heavy for me to move, so I chose the television in our bedroom.

I also had another reason for wanting to hook up our VCR. We had gotten the camcorder from Josh, so we could watch our rehearsal dinner video. It needed to plug into the VCR to work. (It can be plugged into a computer, but my laptop wasn't compatible, and I didn't want to crawl on the floor to plug it into the other computers we have.)

A little while later, I watched our rehearsal dinner video on the television in our bedroom. I was so excited that I had figured out how to hook everything up correctly all on my own! Now I just need David to move the old (and non-working) VCR out from under the TV and put the new one in.

Next step: Programming the VCR! I'll do that this weekend. It'll be fun.

New Toys!

David and I went to the Cingular store today. We were there to switch my cell phone over to his plan. We were told that we both had to get new phones. While I was certainly happy with my old phone, I liked the thought of getting a new one. Today was the day to get our phones!

I selected the Motorola V551. It has a camera with a zoom function, bluetooth capabilities and video. I can create a 15 second video to send to some unsuspecting person. It also has internet functions as well. I spent the evening learning about my new toy. I'm excited!

David's new phone is the Motorola RAZR V3. It's made out of one sheet of metal and runs really fast. His has all the same functions as mine, but is much faster. I don't care. I still like mine best! Hooray for new toys!
