Anniversary Recap

Our first anniversary was splendid! We went out to dinner at a local Indian food place on Saturday night. We hadn't been there in awhile, but every time we go we are impressed with the food. We were not disappointed this time, either. After dinner and Starbucks, we headed over to the Embassy Suites, also in Frisco.

David had stopped by earlier to make preparations. I was in for a real treat! There was a trail of red roses leading to the bedroom. There were even more roses on the bed, framing a bottle of bubbly, a box of chocolates, along with some romantic music! There was also another bouquet of stargazer lilies. David ordered the romance package, which consisted another bottle of bubbly and some chocolate covered strawberries!

The hotel was very nice, we had a great view of Frisco, from our room on the 11th floor! We woke up on Sunday and gave our presents to each other. I received a book on the sights of London, along with a map! I bought David some books from the Dune series, which he enjoyed. We went to the lobby and dined on a sumptuous complementary breakfast.

Upon checkout, we drove home to drop off our bags. While we were there, I pulled out our pictures, and we looked at them together. We had decided to eat lunch at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Plano. We hadn't been there since our rehearsal dinner last year! It was very good! Our appetizer was this absolutely wonderful spinach dip. In fact, I ate too much of it and didn't have much room for the entree. Oh well, I enjoyed it the next couple of days for lunch!

We left Spaghetti Warehouse and drove past St. Andrew. Part of me wanted to go in, but I can always do that another time. Seeing the outside was enough to make me smile, though. Our anniversary was concluded by eating our wedding cake from last year. Mom had sealed up a couple of pieces using a vacuum sealer, and while it wasn't as good as it was a year ago, it was still pretty good. All in all, our first anniversary was a huge success!

House Hunting

After dinner last night, David & I decided to drive around and look at homes for sale. We're not exactly planning on buying tomorrow, but it never hurts to look. We went through some neighborhoods in Frisco, some were possibly affordable, others we can only dream of owning a house like that!

We had more luck in Little Elm. There were a couple of neighborhoods that looked like they might be good places to live. A lot of families were outdoors enjoying the weather. David & I figured there would probably be a lot of couples/young families in that area. There were a few houses that we really liked. Naturally, we want to see them on the inside. It's exciting to start looking for houses!

Fun With Cars!

I had a couple of mystery shops to do today. Unfortunately, as I was out, my car started to overheat. I turned on the heater and looked for a place to pull over. I was getting scared, as my car was a bit shaky. However, I did manage to get into a parking lot and also into a parking spot. Since I had a bottle of coolant in my trunk, I intended on waiting for the Dezimobile to cool and then filling it up with coolant. Unfortunately, because it was really hot outside, it never got cool.

There was a Starbucks around the corner from where I parked my car, so I called David to tell him what was going on. He came and filled my car with the coolant. He even said it was still hot, but it is July in Texas. We let my car run for a bit, then he took the Dezimobile, and I followed in his car. We drove to a mechanic in Frisco.

They examined the car, while I dropped David off at work. He had requested that they call his cell phone with the diagnosis. I am going to have my radiator replaced, as well as some other parts. The Dezimobile should be ready to pick up on Monday. Therefore, I'll drive David to work on Monday, which works out great, since I'm helping out at Art Camp at church this week. (It's just down the street from David's office!)

While I like driving David's car, I love the Dezimobile! I have a feeling its days are numbered, though. We shall see how much longer it hangs on until I must get a new Dezimobile.

Family Traditions

First of all, I just realized that's the title of a Hank Williams, Jr. song. A very good song!

Anywho, I have been thinking about traditions to start in our new family. Not just the holiday traditions, but others as well. One thing that David & I decided to start doing is to have family picture taken around our anniversary each year. We had thought about doing it around Christmas, however, that's when everyone else is having theirs taken.

I am in the process of looking for a place to have this done. I think we'll go to Sears, they have some nice picture packages that aren't too expensive. I'm excited about starting this tradition. I know for the next couple of years, it'll be just David & I, but someday we'll have kids in the mix. Whenever we do have the picture made, I'll post a copy on here!

Hooray for new family traditions!
