Friday night, David & I drove to one of my relatives' house to attend the cousin campout! What is a cousin campout? It's a tradition started many years ago to get us cousins together to visit. We made t-shirts, played various games, and got to stay up until we fell asleep. We had them yearly for several years, until we all got older and our lives got more hectic. Our last campout was in 2001.
When I got a call from one of my cousins last month saying that they wanted to have a campout, I was really excited! For the first time, it was not held at my parents' house and we did not have t-shirts. (I thought about making shirts, however, it was a last minute thought). David and I packed our overnight bags and headed out.
Out of the 14 grandkids, 9 were in attendance for the festivities, plus David! We started off by taking a dip in the pool, then had a rousing game of Cranium. I don't know what it is about that game, but whenever there is a Muse cousin gathering, we always seem to play it. David & I were a team, and while we didn't win, we did quite well!
After watching the tv for awhile, it was time for bed. The next morning, I tried my hand at the foosball table against David. I was losing very quickly, so one of my cousins came to my rescue and helped me! We carpooled over to our grandparents' to have a visit with them. It was definitely a fun night, and I hope we continue to have cousin campouts.
